About Project

Patricia from New York sent me her stunning Nutcracker Sampler quilt, a lovely block of the month kit by Cakestand Quilts. I had so much fun quilting ribbon feathers in the background as well as adding the details to each character. I think the mouse king might be my favorite! I had peppermint candies in mind when I added the swirls to the borders, and snowdrifts with loose, wavy lines in the background. I didn’t want to detract from the beautiful characters and stunning Tilda fabrics with dense, detailed quilting in the background. I feel I managed to strike a good balance!
