About Project

“Tiny Jewel,” a foundation paper piecing pattern by Flying Parrot Quilts, was made by me for my mom as a very belated birthday gift! My mom is an RN that works in an office setting without a window, so I quilted this for her to have her own beautiful view. We both love hummingbirds. This was my first time paper piecing in a long time, and the most complicated paper piecing pattern I had taken on at the time. I worked on it during an open sew night at Orchid Owl Quilts alongside one of my best friends, Sam, in Las Vegas before we moved to Virginia. Fond memories!
