About Project

“Horses For Elfay” is a quilt I made for my daughter, Elfay, using Modernly Morgan’s “Starshine” pattern. The horses in the center of the sawtooth stars are cut from a panel in the Moda Purebred II fabric line, and the rest of the prints are from fat quarters that I collected from various quilt shops. I was inspired by leather tooling designs on western saddles for the feathers along with Native American and Aztec motifs for the more geometric elements.
